Introduction to Weaver Style Writing

Weaver Style is a pointed pen script developed by Gwen Weaver. It is a whimsical style that is easy for beginners or experienced calligraphers to learn, as it has one set of letters... no upper and lower case... and is a good introduction to people new to using an oblique holder. Martha learned Weaver Style at the 2024 IAMPETH conference in San Antonio, and was delighted by its whimsical nature. Martha, who joined the guild in 2012, came with a broad-edge background, but has taken “almost every class and workshop we’ve offered, with a few exceptions,” she said. “I’m always up for learning something new.” She has held various positions on the board, including President, and is currently our Major Workshop chair.
